World’s Coolest Caliper? Troy Lee Paints Brembo B-M6

LAS VEGAS, (October 31, 2018) – Brembo commissioned famed action sports designer Troy Lee Designs to paint one of the company’s all-new B-M6 brake calipers for the SEMA Show that will take place in Las Vegas, October 30 – November 2. The Troy Lee painted B-M6 can be viewed in the Brembo exhibit, 23261, in Central Hall.
In 2011 Troy Lee designed the Flying Lizard Porsche Le Mans livery. The design celebrated the entry of its first-ever two-car lineup into the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The livery was applied to the #80 911 GT3 RSR that was driven in the GTE Pro class by Jörg Bergmeister, Patrick Long, and Lucas Luhr and finished sixth in class. The blue-and-orange livery offers a subtle nod to the 1970 J.W. Automotive Gulf 917 Kurzhecks made famous by Steve McQueen’s Le Mans, while the scheme incorporates the names and national flags of all the drivers who have secured overall victories at Le Mans behind the wheel of a Porsche.Troy Lee
“The Brembo B-M6 has some great flowing lines, that really mirror that of the classic design of the Porsche 911,” Troy Lee, said. “The racing heritage of Brembo and the winning history of Porsche, I thought, was a natural combination to celebrate the introduction of the all-new B-M6 brake caliper. The B-M6 turned-out to be a perfect ‘canvas’ for this design and I am very pleased with the way it turned out.”
“Brembo calipers make a statement on any vehicle,” Dan Sandberg, Brembo North America president and CEO said. “Add Troy Lee’s eye for aggressive design with an iconic Porsche livery and you have a true piece of art. The B-M6 is a performance caliper and with Troy Lee’s artist touch it just accentuates the Italian engineered lines of this all-new brake caliper.”
The Brembo B-M6 is a 6-piston aluminum monobloc caliper designed for the front corners of sports coupes and sedans, high-performance SUV’s and supercars that use either cast-iron or Brembo’s advanced CCM-R carbon-ceramic discs. It accommodates brake discs up to 410x36mm (16.14×1.42″). It is available in five colors – black, red, yellow, white and fluorescent yellow.
