Galfer has confirmed that Galfer USA, established in Florida in September 2025, is the sole authorized representative of the Galfer brand in the United States and Canada, following the end of its three-decade distribution relationship with Giocar America Inc. The Barcelona-based braking systems manufacturer said the statement addresses inaccurate information that has circulated about its North American business structure in recent months. Francisco Catena, CEO of Galfer Industries, pointed to the company’s engineering record — including the patented Wave-shaped rotor and proprietary Shark, Cubiq, and Floatech technologies — as the foundation of its exclusive claim to the Galfer name in the region. Giocar, Galfer’s former importer, has since introduced its own independent braking line under the GBrakes brand, which Galfer says has no connection to its operations.

Why Galfer Is Clarifying Its North American Structure
Giocar acted as Galfer’s North American distributor for more than 30 years, a relationship that ended in September 2025. Galfer said that throughout that period, product development, engineering, manufacturing, technology, and global brand strategy remained exclusively under its own direction and control.
The company describes the current structure as a continuation rather than a rebrand: products sold through Galfer USA are the same Galfer products engineered and manufactured globally, carrying the same proprietary technologies and quality standards. Galfer states that it is the sole official source of Galfer products, and that any products or activities outside its own industrial and commercial structure fall outside the brand.
Giocar’s New GBrakes Brand
Giocar has since launched its own independent braking products under the GBrakes name. Galfer said it has no affiliation, relationship, partnership, or involvement with GBrakes, characterizing it as a separate business venture unconnected to Galfer, Galfer Industries, or any part of Galfer’s operations. The company further stated that any communication suggesting Galfer is transitioning to GBrakes, or that the two brands are connected or represent the same business continuity, is false and misleading.
Galfer USA’s Role in North America
Galfer USA has continued building out its North American presence since opening its Orlando facility in September 2025, most recently expanding its motorsports footprint through a multi-year MotoAmerica partnership signed in March 2026. Fully integrated within the Galfer Industries organization, the subsidiary is positioned as the company’s mechanism for improving product availability, technical support, training through the Galfer Academy, and delivery times across the region.
