KTM North America is recalling about 21,040 GASGAS and Husqvarna off-road motorcycles in the United States because the rear brake caliper can crack or break, reducing the brake system’s effectiveness and posing a risk of serious injury or death from a crash. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall this week under recall number 26-710, covering model-year 2021 through 2024 machines, with about 4,140 additional units sold in Canada under a companion action. The agency urges owners to stop riding the recalled motorcycles immediately and contact an authorized GASGAS or Husqvarna dealer for a free repair.

The GASGAS motorcycles are red with a white GASGAS logo on both sides of the shrouds, while the Husqvarna machines are white, blue, and yellow with the Husqvarna logo on both sides of the shrouds. The VIN is located on the right side of the steering head on all makes and models.
How Can Owners Get the Repair?
Consumers should stop riding the recalled motorcycles immediately and contact an authorized GASGAS or Husqvarna dealer to schedule a free repair at the dealership. Owners can confirm whether their unit is affected by entering the VIN at the Husqvarna recall check page or the GASGAS recall check page, or by calling GASGAS and Husqvarna toll-free at 888-985-6090 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
The motorcycles were sold at GASGAS and Husqvarna authorized dealers nationwide from September 2020 through June 2023 for between $7,300 and $13,000. The machines were manufactured in Austria and imported by KTM North America Inc. of Amherst, Ohio. The commission processed the action as a Fast Track recall, and no incidents or injuries have been reported.
A Widening Rear Caliper Campaign
The CPSC action follows a separate NHTSA recall of 6,257 Husqvarna and GASGAS dual-sport motorcycles in July, which also centered on rear brake caliper cracking. KTM North America has also previously addressed front brake caliper casting defects across the Husqvarna and GASGAS lineups. Because the new CPSC recall covers closed-course off-road machines rather than road-registered models, it falls under the commission’s jurisdiction rather than NHTSA’s.
