Galfer has renewed its official sponsorship with the MXGP Motocross World Championship for the 2026 season. The partnership spans 14 teams, 42 riders, and 13 nationalities across the MXGP, MX2, EMX250, EMX125, and WMX disciplines. For Galfer, the collaboration serves a dual purpose: global brand visibility and real-world technical validation of its braking products.
Highlights
- 42 riders across 14 teams will race on Galfer braking systems in 2026, covering five championship disciplines
- Two brake disc technologies are deployed: the Wave disc for consistent modulation and the Disc Shark® for extreme thermal conditions
- Racing G1396R sintered pads — developed in 2024 — will be used by all supported riders and made available to the public in 2026
- WMX representation includes both six-time champion Kiara Fontanesi and reigning champion Lotte Van Drunen
Rider and Team Lineup
Galfer’s 2026 roster includes some of the most recognized names in international motocross. In the MXGP class, the brand supports Jeremy Seewer, Andrea Bonacorsi, and Calvin Vlaanderen of the Aruba.it Ducati Factory MX Team. Additionally, Alberto Forato and Brent Van Doninck will race with Fantic Factory, while Jago Geerts and Rick Elzinga compete under the MRT Racing Team Beta banner.
Isak Gifting rounds out the MXGP contingent with Yamaha JK Racing. In the MX2 category, Galfer backs Simone Mancini and Ferruchio Zanchi of Team Beddini Racing Ducati Factory MX2.
Ducati Development Role
Tony Cairoli, a reference figure in Ducati MX technical development, continues to contribute to the program. His involvement adds technical, competitive, and operational depth to Ducati’s motocross project.
Braking Technology in Competition
Galfer riders will select from two disc platforms based on track and weather conditions:
- Wave brake discs — recognized for consistent, powerful, and highly modulable braking performance
- Disc Shark® discs — engineered to manage extreme thermal stress under demanding track conditions
All 42 riders will use the Racing G1396R sintered brake pads, formulated with an advanced compound developed in 2024. Galfer plans to release these pads to the broader consumer market in 2026.
