EBC Brakes Racing has been named an official partner of the GT Cup Championship for the 2026 season. The partnership will place EBC Brakes Racing branding on door number boards across the entire GT Cup grid. It will also appear in additional championship materials and literature. The deal builds on a previous sponsorship between the two organizations during the 2020 season.
Highlights
- EBC Brakes Racing confirmed as official partner of the 2026 GT Cup Championship, with branding on all grid cars.
- Multiple GT Cup teams already use EBC motorsport braking components on their race vehicles.
- The 2026 season opens at Donington Park on April 11–12.
- GT Cup features a mix of sprint and endurance race formats at each round.
Existing Relationship Deepens
The partnership is not new territory for either party. Many teams competing in the GT Cup already rely on EBC’s motorsport braking products. Additionally, the two organizations previously worked together during a successful 2020 season sponsorship.
Founded in 2007 by Marc Haynes, the GT Cup Championship has developed into one of the UK’s most prominent competitive GT racing platforms. The series is built around a philosophy of accessibility and sportsmanship. As a result, it attracts both professional-level competition and a welcoming paddock environment.
Race Format Aligns With Product Range
Each GT Cup round combines shorter sprint races with longer endurance events. This format provides a demanding proving ground for braking components. It also aligns closely with the EBC Brakes Racing motorsport product range, which is designed for both track day and endurance applications.
Stefan Goddard, Race Technical Manager at EBC Brakes, said the company is eager to further demonstrate its motorsport capabilities. He noted that EBC already maintains partnerships with teams across the grid. Furthermore, he expressed enthusiasm for supporting additional competitors with the company’s technical expertise this season.
Championship Leadership Welcomes Deal
Hannah James, GT Cup Championship Director, described EBC Brakes as an industry leader. She added that competitors and the championship itself have maintained a strong working relationship with the company. In her view, the partnership will benefit all parties heading into what she expects to be an exciting season.
Season Opener at Donington Park
The 2026 GT Cup Championship season begins at Donington Park in Derbyshire on April 11–12. More information about the championship is available at gtcup.co.uk. Details on the EBC Brakes Racing product lineup can be found on the company’s automotive racing page.
