Brembo Celebrates 50 Racing Years at Mugello

Brembo, a global leader in high-performance braking systems, is celebrating a major milestone: 50 years of innovation and success in motorsport. To mark the occasion, the company will serve as the prestigious Title Sponsor for the Mugello MotoGP for the second consecutive year, reaffirming its central role in the world of motorcycle racing.

Key Highlights

  • Brembo is marking 50 years of motorsport success as the Title Sponsor of the Mugello MotoGP.
  • The company supplies braking systems to all 11 MotoGP teams and is the MotoGP Braking Inspiration Partner.
  • A new, two-story Brembo service and hospitality truck will debut at the Tuscan circuit.
  • To commemorate the anniversary, Brembo is releasing a limited edition RCS Corsa Corta brake kit, with only 500 units produced.

A Legacy of Leadership

Brembo’s position as a technological leader is undisputed, as it provides braking systems for every team in MotoGP and 90% of the teams in Moto2 and Moto3. Further strengthening its track presence, the Brembo Group now includes Öhlins, the Swedish suspension company that supplies front forks and rear shocks to all but two teams in the premier class. This combination of expertise provides riders with unparalleled quality and performance, continually raising the safety and performance standards of the sport.

“We are recognized by all riders and teams as a technological leader capable of providing innovative solutions for braking systems, clutches, wheels, and even suspensions,” stated Matteo Tiraboschi, Executive Chairman of Brembo.

The Mugello Challenge

The Mugello circuit, nestled in the Tuscan hills, is one of the most demanding tracks on the MotoGP calendar. Its iconic main straight sees bikes reach speeds exceeding 350 km/h, requiring braking systems that can handle extreme thermal and mechanical stress. The most critical braking point is the San Donato corner at the end of this straight, where riders must rapidly decelerate to around 92 km/h, placing immense strain on the brakes.

Celebrating with Innovation

Brembo’s history in motorsport is rich with technological advancements. The company achieved its first 500cc class Grand Prix win in 1978 and later partnered with Team Agostini, helping Eddie Lawson secure three World Championships with a Japanese motorcycle using Italian brakes. Key innovations like the thumb brake and the radial caliper were pioneered by Brembo on the track.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Brembo is introducing several new initiatives at Mugello:

  • New Service Truck: A state-of-the-art truck will be present at all European races. The ground floor houses operational areas for engineers assisting all teams, while the upper floor features a hospitality area for guests and partners.
  • Limited Edition Kit: For enthusiasts, Brembo is launching an exclusive RCS Corsa Corta Limited Edition kit. Limited to just 500 numbered units, the kit includes a high-performance brake master cylinder with features used in MotoGP and distinctive golden branding, all presented in special commemorative packaging.

Guided by its strategic vision, “Turning Energy into Inspiration,” Brembo continues to shape the future of mobility with cutting-edge solutions.
