VANCOUVER, Wash. –Custom Commodities, a tanker fleet based out of Gilmer, Texas, has begun to upfit its vehicles with the ConMet PreSet Plus SmartHub. After a brief trial-use of ConMet’s newest technology, Custom Commodities is expanding the use of the product and data services to continue to elevate their standards for vehicle service, support, and safety.

With a fleet of more than 400 tankers and 215 tractors, Custom Commodities is an industry leader in the transport of kosher-approved and non-hazmat liquid and dry bulk commodities. The company has integrated and standardized many types of technology, adopting innovative ways of improving efficiency and reducing total cost of ownership (TCO).

David L. Stevenson, CEO & President of Custom Commodities said, “keeping our customers safe and satisfied is our number one goal. With the ConMet PreSet Plus SmartHub, we feel confident when we tell our clients we’re providing them excellent freight services, backed up by the safest, smartest, and most innovative hub technology available.”

Bringing Innovation to Hubs

The ConMet PreSet Plus SmartHub is the first connected health monitoring system integrated into a hub assembly. It generates actionable intelligence for fleets on the condition of their hubs, tires, and brakes. With this information, fleets can make early decisions to minimize unplanned and costly maintenance event costs and improve overall vehicle safety.

The SmartHub helps fleet managers make more informed maintenance choices. It provides performance data, which can be easily viewed and analyzed through ConMet’s dashboard or through their existing telematics provider.

In the future, ConMet will also expand the capabilities of the PreSet Plus SmartHub vehicle area network (VAN) with additional data services, such as tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), automatic tire inflation (ATI), load sensing, lubrication levels, and more, helping to create an even safer and more connected vehicle.
