Brembo has unveiled BOLDIKA, a six-piston fixed aluminum caliper producing more than 8,500 Nm of braking torque, launching first on the Chevrolet Silverado EV RST Stars and Steel Edition.

Brembo has unveiled BOLDIKA, a six-piston fixed aluminum brake caliper producing more than 8,500 Nm (6,269 lb-ft) of braking torque — the most powerful caliper the company has built for a passenger car application. Announced this week, the BOLDIKA caliper is designed to improve braking performance on electrified and internal combustion engine (ICE) heavy-duty pickup trucks and large SUVs. It launches first with a Brembo disc on the Chevrolet Silverado EV RST Stars and Steel Edition in 2026 and marks the company’s first entry into the heavy-duty pickup truck segment.

How Is the BOLDIKA Caliper Built?

BOLDIKA uses a three-piece construction that incorporates what Brembo describes as patent-pending technology developed specifically for large, heavy and high-horsepower vehicles. The caliper body is primarily lightweight aluminum, with two halves connected by bolts, but it applies the company’s cast-iron central bridge concept to a six-piston design for the first time.

That arrangement increases stiffness, according to Brembo, delivering greater braking power, consistency and stability while reducing weight compared with a fully cast-iron alternative.

Packaging for 20-Inch and Larger Wheels

Engineered to maximize pad surface area, the caliper maintains a compact architecture compatible with 20-inch and larger wheels. The company frames this as a packaging advantage for truck and SUV applications frequently used for towing or off-road driving.

Enesys Zero-Drag Technology

The caliper also carries Brembo’s Enesys zero-drag technology, which returns the pads to their resting position after braking and reduces residual brake torque. Brembo said the system can help increase vehicle range and maximize pad life.

Chevrolet Silverado EV Application

The Chevrolet Performance caliper launching on the Silverado EV is finished in Torch Red with Chevrolet and Brembo co-branding. Brembo said the aluminum body enables premium finishing and color customization, and the company expects the caliper to reach additional trucks and SUVs after the Silverado EV launch.

The name, pronounced bohl-DEE-kah, draws on the words “Bold” and “Like,” which Brembo said reflects the caliper’s engineering approach.
