FISITA has opened abstract submissions for EuroBrake 2026, the annual braking technology conference scheduled for June 1-3, 2026 at the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz, Germany. Engineers, researchers, and industry professionals can submit technical papers, oral presentations, or poster presentations through January 12, 2026.

Technical Topics for 2026
The conference program covers developments across the braking technology spectrum. Submissions are invited in the following areas:
Commercial Vehicles: Brake particle emissions from light and heavy-duty vehicles, alternative combustion engines including hydrogen, retarder versus recuperation performance comparisons, and brake disc coatings.
Braking Systems and Technologies: Environmentally friendly systems, digital twins linking modeling and testing, autonomous vehicle brake health monitoring, integrated chassis control, brake-by-wire safety and redundancy, regenerative braking, electromechanical brakes, and software-defined vehicle impacts on braking systems.
Railway Braking: Non-exhaust emission reduction technologies including coated rotors, rail brake tribology addressing NVH and emissions, and brake-by-wire innovations for rail applications.
Specialized Brakes: Motorcycle and electric bike systems, motorsport and high-performance vehicle braking, and industrial applications such as wind turbines.
Components, Materials, and Simulation
The materials track addresses friction material testing requirements for EVs and BEVs, lightweight brake disc design, corrosion resistance, durability of environmentally friendly brakes, AI and ML-based friction material formulation, and rotor coating materials development.
Modeling and simulation topics include brake wear and emissions simulation, NVH simulation, new data-driven methods, AI/ML research applications, and virtual certification and design quality.
Environmental and Regulatory Focus
Sustainability topics encompass logistics, manufacturing processes, material selection, recycling, and lifecycle assessment. The program also addresses Euro 7 and UN GTR24 compliance, tire emissions, aerosol characterization, and health effects of brake emissions.
Testing and standardization submissions should address brake wear and emissions testing, NVH testing, small-scale rapid testing correlation, real-world corrosion testing, and global regulatory requirements.
Submission Requirements and Deadlines
Abstracts must include paper title, author affiliations, research objectives, methodology, results, study limitations, novel contributions, and conclusions. The maximum length is 700 words, written in English.
