BRAMPTON, Ontario–Ascent Tranz Group, LLC, (the parent company of A-LINE-branded air disc parts) and Max Power Friction, Inc. of Brampton, Ontario have signed an exclusive supply agreement to provide Canadian-made air disc brake pads to the North American air disc brake market.
“This agreement marks another step in our efforts to supply our customers with North American-made product,” says John Kelvin, Vice President of Business and Product Development for Ascent Tranz Group. “These OE-grade brake pads are made in Canada, with materials from USA.
“After supplying air disc pads to the heavy duty market since 2015, we believe that Max Power now produces the best friction products in the industry.”
To mark the signing the agreement, Ascent has released its new “Canada-Made Design” pad manufactured with burnish strips that resemble the Canadian flag.
“The Canadian government granted permission for this design,” says Kelvin, “so now everyone will know our pads are unmistakably Canadian-made.”
The supply agreement gives Ascent exclusive rights to distribute Max Power Friction products under the A-LINE® brand name.
Max Power President, Duncan Huang says the two companies have been collaborating since 2015 and Ascent was chosen for exclusive distribution because of its reputation for quality and expertise in air disc braking.
“We both strive to be the best in our industry,” he says. “We believe this agreement will allow that to happen. Ascent has demonstrated a strong and growing customer base that wants high-quality pads. We are proud to be the source of that quality.”
At a time when most distributors are buying product from overseas manufacturers, and trade wars are hiking prices and slowing delivery, North American-made product will guarantee quality and delivery.
Ascent’s Canadian A-LINE pads are FMVSS121 approved, and are available in 23,000-pound over-the-road and 26,000-pound severe-duty friction grades.
