Tesla Issues Model Y Front Brake Rotor Service Bulletin

Tesla Service Bulletin SB-26-33-002 addresses front brake rotor squealing on 2025–2026 Giga Berlin Model Y vehicles, requiring rotor replacement and brake burnishing on units under 50,000 km.

Tesla has issued Service Bulletin SB-26-33-002, directing technicians to replace front brake rotors on select 2025–2026 Model Y vehicles built at Giga Berlin. The bulletin, dated February 25, 2026, applies to dual-motor variants distributed across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Taiwan, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Highlights

  • Affected vehicles: 2025–2026 Model Y (Dual Motor), Giga Berlin production, multiple international markets
  • Condition: Front brakes may produce a squealing noise during braking in cold or humid conditions
  • Correction: Replace front brake rotors with updated parts on vehicles under 50,000 km (31,070 miles); no prior inspection required
  • Correction time: 0.84 hours (procedure code S012633002)

Condition and Scope

On certain Giga Berlin-built Model Y vehicles, the front brakes exhibit a squealing noise when braking in cold and/or humid conditions. Tesla has not attributed the issue to brake pad wear or driver behavior. Instead, the bulletin points to the rotors themselves as the root cause.

Technicians should verify applicability using the VIN/Bulletin Tracker or the Customer/Vehicle profile before proceeding.

Correction Procedure

Tesla’s prescribed fix is straightforward. If the bulletin applies to the vehicle, technicians must perform the correction without any prior inspection step.

The two-step procedure is as follows:

  1. Replace the front brake rotors (Service Manual procedure 3301011102)
  2. Burnish the brakes (Service Manual procedure 33013000)

Correction time is listed at 0.84 labor hours.
