SAE International announced it will hold its annual Brake Colloquium Digital Summit virtually from October 12-13, 2020.

As North America’s premier brake event, the free digital summit will serve as a gathering for industry experts to share their recent scientific discoveries in brake materials and systems for original equipment and aftermarket customers, along with end users.

“We’re thrilled to offer this digital event to attendees around the world to network and learn about important industry developments to continue to meet customer demand,” said Frank Menchaca, chief growth officer, SAE International. “This virtual summit will allow attendees to convene on critical scientific and standards developments impacting the entire braking system including rotor, caliper and pad design, and development.”

The 2020 Brake Colloquium Digital Summit focuses on two critical trends impacting the industry today and in the future: the advancement of today’s brake technology integrated with ADAS and other advanced safety features, and the development of brake technology requirements for the electric and automated mobility of tomorrow.

Over two days, attendees can listen as panelist examine the latest scientific discoveries and technological innovations in brake materials, components, systems, testing, modeling, and aftermarket solutions for both the light, medium duty, and commercial vehicle segments. Attendees will be able to ask questions via a chat panel during the live keynote and panel discussions.

The technical program, including more than 50 on-demand presentations, will cover topics across a variety of segments ranging from commercial vehicles to railways. This year’s panel discussion topics include:

  • Voice of the OEM
  • Quality Assurance Strategy in Light of Continuously Changing Properties of Disc Pads and Discs
  • Requirements and Braking Strategy for Autonomous Vehicle
  • Innovations in Wheel Bearing and Seals and Their Impact on Brake Corners
