Randoncorp Expands with EBS Group Acquisition

Randoncorp announced that its Master Freios unit, a joint venture with the Cummins Group, is acquiring control of the EBS Group from the United Kingdom, a leader in brake systems for commercial vehicles. This transaction is valued at approximately 56 million pounds sterling (around 410 million reais), marking one of the largest acquisitions in Randoncorp’s history. The deal aims to expand Master Freios’ expertise and strengthen its global presence in the aftermarket for commercial vehicle parts.

Master Freios is the largest manufacturer of brake systems for trucks, buses, and semi-trailers in Latin America. It has been a significant player in the Brazilian and international markets for 38 years, leading in supplying automakers and holding a strong position in replacement products. The company offers a wide range of products, including pneumatic and hydraulic brakes, as well as control systems such as valves, brake chambers, ABS systems, and more.

With the EBS Group acquisition, Master Freios will gain access to EBS’s expertise, structure, and distribution network across Europe and Asia. EBS Group is among the leaders in the UK aftermarket, known for its broad portfolio of air brake components and commercial vehicle control systems. EBS operates in the United Kingdom, China, Ireland, the United States, the Netherlands, and Romania, making it an essential addition to Master Freios’ international growth strategy.

Bernardo Soares, Master Freios’ business director, stated: “Today, Master is a leader in the supply of original parts to automakers. This transaction will diversify our portfolio and increase our exposure to the aftermarket, so that we can deliver even more solutions to our partners.”

Master Freios, with production units in Rio Grande do Sul and a consolidated sales network in Latin America, is recognized for delivering high-quality brake systems for commercial vehicles that meet world-renowned standards, ensuring greater safety on the roads.
