HDNABI NA Opens US Plant in Georgia

ATLANTA — HDNABI North America Brake Industry will begin manufacturing air disc brakes and axles for the North American heavy-duty vehicle market from a new plant in Norcross, Ga. starting May 1. HDNABI will begin assembling a new technology-based performance ADB and axle system in the new facility on May 1.

HDNABI is a heavy-duty braking systems supplier in Korea. It has been supplying to a Korean automotive customer and is now testing its components with trailer maker Hyundai Translead. “Expanding into North America was “a natural next step,” said CEO Yon Yu in a statement.

“We look forward to leveraging our depth of industry experience in advanced brake design, global sourcing, rigorous R&D, validation, performance testing, and manufacturing automation to deliver this world-class technology to OEMs and fleet operators throughout North America,” said Yu.

The company’s ADB product is intended to deliver enhanced stopping distances, stable braking performance, extended pad and wheel life, reduced maintenance and a lower total cost of ownership.

HDNABI will offer a trailer system including Stemco’s Platinum Performance System wheel end components that it is positioning as a value-priced ADB system that closes the price gap with current drum brakes.
