Why Copper-Free Matters for Commercial Vehicles
Copper has long served as a key ingredient in brake pads and linings across automotive and CV applications. However, regulatory and environmental scrutiny has identified copper particulate from brake wear as a significant contamination source. Ferodo product engineers developed alternative formulations that remove copper entirely while maintaining OE-level performance.
According to Silvano Veglia, Product Management Director at DRiV, the copper-free pads are designed to reduce fleet maintenance costs while eliminating environmental contamination associated with copper-based friction materials.
