Delphi, a PHINIA brand, has become an Associated Partner of Brake, the UK road safety charity, as part of its Make Some Noise. Delphi – Built for Silence campaign. The company says the partnership gives Delphi a platform to carry its braking safety message beyond the aftermarket to a wider audience, while supporting Brake’s campaigning for safer roads and its work with people and families affected by road crashes.
Highlights
- Partnership scope: Delphi will support Brake’s road safety campaigning and its support services for crash-affected families.
- Campaign context: Make Some Noise launched in the UK earlier this year as an industry-wide aftermarket initiative focused on quality, correct fitment, technical knowledge and regular maintenance.
- Engineering message: The campaign highlights application-specific friction materials and five-layer brake pad construction alongside testing, training and installation.
What the Delphi Brake Partnership Covers
The partnership will see Delphi back Brake’s work campaigning for safer roads and supporting people and families affected by road crashes. According to the company, it also provides another platform for Delphi to take its braking safety message beyond the aftermarket.
Aliya Lam, Country Director UK at PHINIA, said: “Braking safety is something we all have a responsibility to take seriously, which is why our partnership with Brake, the road safety charity, feels like such a natural fit for the Delphi brand and our UK local Make Some Noise campaign. We want to help raise awareness of the role that quality braking components, correct fitment and regular maintenance play in keeping people safe on the road.
“For Delphi, this is about more than simply supplying quality parts. It’s about working with the industry – and beyond – to promote better understanding, better choices and better braking performance, from the workshop right through to the driver.
“Brake safety is something that is personally very important to me, so being able to support an organisation dedicated to making our roads safer makes this partnership particularly meaningful.”
How Make Some Noise Positions Braking Quality
Delphi launched its Make Some Noise UK campaign earlier this year as an aftermarket movement aimed at workshops, technicians, distributors and motorists, encouraging them to think beyond price when specifying braking components. The company describes the campaign as centered on quality, correct fitment, technical knowledge and regular maintenance.
The campaign highlights the engineering behind Delphi’s braking components, including:
- Application-specific friction materials
- Five-layer brake pad construction
- Testing, training and correct installation
It also aims to give workshops the knowledge and confidence to explain braking quality to customers, so motorists better understand why the components fitted to their vehicles matter.
Delphi supports the message through its workshop offering, including Delphi Academy braking training, Masters of Motion technical content and its on-the-road Tech Vans, which the company says help technicians develop the skills to diagnose, fit and maintain braking systems correctly.
Brake’s View of the Partnership
Ross Moorlock, Brake’s CEO, said: “I am delighted to welcome Delphi as an Associated Partner with Brake. Safe vehicles are an integral part of the safe system approach to road safety. Quite simply, safe vehicles save lives.
“This partnership will contribute to Brake’s work campaigning for road safety for everyone – whoever we are and however we travel – and crucially, supporting families who have been impacted by road crashes. Thank you to Delphi for joining us.”
The company says the partnership will now take that conversation further, connecting the technical expertise of the automotive aftermarket with the wider objective of improving road safety.
