EBC Brakes Names Martin Walder Global Sales Director

EBC Brakes has appointed Martin Walder as global sales director effective August 17, 2026, giving him responsibility for the EBC Group's entire worldwide customer base from the company's Northampton facility.

EBC Brakes has appointed Martin Walder as its new global sales director, effective August 17, 2026, with responsibility for the entire EBC Group customer base worldwide. Walder arrives with more than 20 years of customer-facing experience at all business levels in engineering. EBC Brakes says the appointment responds to growing demand from new and existing customers for its product range.

Highlights

  • Effective date: Walder takes up the global sales director role on August 17, 2026.
  • Scope: The position covers the EBC Group’s customer base globally, not a single region or product division.
  • Background: More than 20 years in customer-facing positions at all business levels in engineering.
  • Catalog scale: EBC lists more than 60,000 stock items and manufactures 100% of its friction products in three factories in the UK and the US.

A Global Remit Based in Northampton

Walder will work from EBC’s Northampton facility. The role consolidates responsibility for the group’s worldwide customer base under a single sales lead, spanning the automotive, motorcycle, and racing channels the company serves through its distribution network.

His background is in customer-facing positions across engineering businesses rather than a single vertical — experience the company points to as the qualification for a remit that runs across the full EBC Group rather than a regional territory.

The Manufacturing Base Behind the Sales Push

The appointment sits on top of a large in-house manufacturing footprint. EBC carries more than 60,000 stock items in its product lineup, and produces 100% of its friction products at three factories in the UK and the United States. All of the company’s motorcycle rotors are manufactured in the UK.

That vertical integration is the operational context for a global sales role: the company controls production of the friction and rotor lines it sells, across both of its manufacturing geographies.

What the Appointment Signals

The sole shareholder of the EBC Holdings Group framed the hire as a step up in pace for the business, according to the announcement. EBC positioned the appointment as a response to expanding customer demand rather than a replacement or restructuring, and did not name a predecessor in the role.
