Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC is expanding its 2026 technical training program with 23 in-person classes across 11 states and two virtual sessions. The courses, running from March through November, target fleet technicians, owner-operators, and maintenance professionals seeking updated skills in air brake systems and advanced safety technologies.
Highlights
- Bendix will offer 16 three-day Air Brake Training sessions and seven two-day Advanced Technology Training classes across 11 states, plus two virtual options.
- The Advanced Technology Training program has been expanded to meet growing demand for collision mitigation and electronic braking education.
- In-person classes feature working air system boards equipped with Bendix Fusion systems for hands-on collision mitigation instruction.
- A major North American OEM now requires both Bendix courses as part of its Master Technician certification curriculum.
Course Structure and Content
The three-day Air Brake Training class covers the full range of dual air brake system components. Topics include compressed air fundamentals, failure mode diagnosis, and foundation brake components such as air compressors, valves, drum brakes, and air disc brakes. Additionally, the course introduces the Bendix GSBC (Global Scalable Brake Control) electronic braking system and Bendix GSAT (Global Scalable Air Treatment) technologies.
Bendix recommends completing online air brake training at brake-school.com before attending the in-person class.
Advanced Technology Training
The two-day Advanced Technology Training class builds on the foundational course. It focuses on operation and troubleshooting of advanced safety systems, including:
- Antilock braking systems (ABS)
- AutoVue Lane Departure Warning (LDW) System
- Bendix ESP Electronic Stability Program full-stability system
- Bendix Wingman Advanced collision mitigation technology
- Bendix Fusion driver assistance system family
- SmarTire and SmarTire Trailer-Link Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS)
- Bendix GSBC electronic braking system and Bendix GSAT
The program also includes hands-on maintenance instruction for Bendix air disc brakes and electrical diagnostics.
“The increase in technological advances in braking and stability makes this training a must for the advanced technician,” said Brian Screeton, Bendix manager of technical training and service. “As safety advances continue, technicians are only going to see more of these systems and components.”

Schedule and Locations
In-person Air Brake Training begins March 31–April 2 in Fresno, California. The 16 sessions span locations across 11 states through November.
Seven Advanced Technology Training sessions are scheduled at three locations:
- Avon, Ohio (company headquarters) – three sessions, starting April 14–15
- Reno, Nevada – two sessions
- Fairfield, Connecticut – two sessions
Bendix has also scheduled two virtual three-day training sessions. One operates on Eastern Time and the other on Mountain Time to accommodate attendees across North America.
Certification and Testing
All registrants may take an optional written exam at each course’s conclusion. Those earning a passing grade receive a Tested and Passed certificate. Participants who do not pass or opt out receive a Certificate of Completion. However, Bendix training is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Transportation and does not replace any DOT-administered instruction or certification.
“It’s gratifying to know that an OEM recognizes the value delivered through these programs and the practical information gained by attending the Bendix courses,” Screeton said.
