AUMOVIO and the BMW Group have signed a long-term supply and development agreement covering brake systems and vehicle electronics, with a planned order volume of more than $1.15 billion (€1 billion). The agreement extends series deliveries of the MK C2 integrated brake system through the mid-2030s and adds new cooperation projects in electronics. It also resolves all pending legal proceedings between the two companies over an earlier integrated brake system, through payments by AUMOVIO totaling $402 million (€350 million).

What the Agreement Covers
The supplier says the arrangement centers on collaborative series projects spanning brake technologies and electronics solutions. Alongside the MK C2, the scope includes components and systems such as brake calipers and further electronic control solutions for future vehicle platforms.
The two companies have also agreed on new cooperation projects in electronics, extending a supplier relationship that dates to AUMOVIO’s years inside Continental.

How Does the MK C2 Brake System Work?
The MK C2 is an integrated one-box brake system that combines the master cylinder, brake booster and control functions — including the anti-lock braking system and electronic stability control — within a single compact, lightweight module.
According to AUMOVIO, the architecture increases functionality and availability while supporting requirements of modern vehicle platforms. The company cites three in particular:
- Faster autonomous brake pressure build-up, relevant to driver assistance interventions
- Efficient regenerative braking, a priority on electrified platforms
- Functions for highly automated driving
Legal Proceedings Settled
As part of the same package, both companies will amicably settle all pending legal proceedings connected to an integrated brake system that AUMOVIO — then Continental’s Automotive group sector — produced for the BMW Group. AUMOVIO will make payments totaling $402 million (€350 million) to close the matter.
The settlement clears a legacy warranty dispute at the same moment the two sides commit to a multi-year forward program, aligning the resolution of past liability with the new supply and development scope.
