ZF Aftermarket Expands CorExpedia Core Return Platform Across All Reman Brands

ZF Aftermarket has expanded its CorExpedia digital platform to handle core returns across all four remanufactured premium brands — ZF, TRW, SACHS, and WABCO — unifying reverse logistics for European workshops, distributors, and fleets.

ZF Aftermarket has extended its CorExpedia digital platform to handle core returns across all four of its remanufactured premium brands — ZF, TRW, SACHS, and WABCO — unifying reverse logistics for workshops, distributors, and fleets across Europe. The move consolidates previously fragmented return workflows into a single digital interface and is positioned by the supplier as a step toward more systematic circular-economy practices in the automotive aftermarket. ZF Aftermarket said the expansion supports the return of used components needed to sustain its global remanufacturing operations.

Highlights

  • CorExpedia now covers core returns for ZF, TRW, SACHS, and WABCO reman brands across Europe
  • ZF produces more than 7,300 remanufactured products at 20 locations worldwide
  • Platform provides real-time visibility of outstanding cores, packaging guidance, and shipping instructions
  • Faster surcharge refund processing and optional ZF-managed transport for returned cores

One Platform Across Four Brands

The expanded CorExpedia rollout brings all of ZF Aftermarket’s remanufactured premium brands under a single digital core-management system. TRW, the group’s brake actuation and friction brand, and WABCO, its commercial vehicle systems business, are now handled through the same workflow as ZF- and SACHS-branded reman parts. The company said this unified approach replaces what has historically been a fragmented and logistically complex reverse-supply-chain process.

ZF frames core management as the operational foundation of any remanufacturing program, since reman output depends on a reliable inbound flow of used components. Without sufficient cores returning from the field, remanufactured brake calipers, commercial vehicle air compressors, clutches, and similar products cannot be produced at scale.

How CorExpedia Works

According to ZF, the platform provides distributors and workshops with real-time visibility into outstanding cores, including which components are eligible for return, in what quantities, and under what conditions. Users generate return requests through the platform and receive step-by-step guidance on documentation, packaging, and shipping to the appropriate ZF REMAN facility.

Once cores are verified at the receiving plant, surcharge refunds are processed faster, and partners can track payment status through the system. ZF also offers to organize transport and cover associated logistics costs on behalf of customers — a feature aimed at reducing friction in the return process.

On the supplier side, CorExpedia gives ZF a consolidated view of cores awaiting return, which the company said improves stock management and supports a more predictable supply of inputs for reman operations.

Executive Commentary

Philippe Colpron, Head of ZF Aftermarket and Executive Vice President of ZF Group, said: “At ZF, Remanufacturing has been part of our DNA for decades, and today it plays a crucial role in reducing waste, conserving resources, and extending product life cycles. With more than 7,300 remanufactured products produced across 20 locations worldwide, ZF is proud to be one of the global leaders in circular aftermarket solutions. This commitment drives us every day and Reman Day is a perfect moment to highlight the value and impact of this work.”

Tomasz Galazka, Head of Global Remanufacturing Strategy & Business Development at ZF Aftermarket, added: “CorExpedia is more than a return tool — it is the digital backbone of our remanufacturing supply chain. By creating a consistent process across all brands and markets, we help our partners work faster while securing the core availability needed for high-quality remanufactured products. This is essential for making circularity a practical reality in the aftermarket.”

Circular Economy Context

Remanufacturing is widely recognized as one of the higher-value circular strategies in the automotive value chain, restoring used components to like-new performance while retaining much of the original material input. For brake system components — including remanufactured calipers and related hardware that ZF produces under its TRW brand — reman represents an alternative to both new-part replacement and recycling, sitting higher on the waste hierarchy than either.
