Delphi won the Best Stand Award at the UK Garage & Bodyshop Event, capping a two-day showing at the automotive aftermarket exhibition. Workshop visitors came to the Delphi stand for the company’s latest product developments, training initiatives and technical support services, drawn in part by a Spin the Wheel competition and a Tech Van where technical specialists fielded questions on diagnostics, repair procedures and emerging vehicle technologies.
Making the Business Case for Quality
Aliya Lam, UK Country Director at PHINIA Delphi UK, led two sessions during the show. She joined the IAAF Garage Den discussion to share updates on Delphi’s project with Shaikly Motor Company, and delivered a presentation titled “The business case for quality,” making the case that choosing quality parts and the right supplier — and investing in staff training and upskilling — can help workshops save time and money over the long run.
“The UK Garage & Bodyshop Event continues to be one of the key dates in our events calendar, so to come away with the Best Stand Award is a fantastic achievement for the whole team,” Lam said. “What was particularly encouraging was the level of engagement we had with visitors. Workshops are increasingly looking beyond price alone and focusing on quality, training and technical support. Those conversations align perfectly with Delphi’s mission to help customers improve efficiency, profitability and confidence in the workshop.”
A Braking Campaign on the Stand
The event also gave Delphi a platform for its recently launched Make Some Noise. Delphi – Built for Silence campaign, which the company says is designed to raise awareness around braking quality, safety and performance. According to Delphi, the six-pillar campaign — spanning its approach to braking, technical training and workshop support — drew interest from visitors at the show.
A father-and-son duo known as the Mini Boys also stopped by the stand, selecting Delphi Braking, Engine Management and Steering parts for a Mini build that has gained a following on social media. Son Ben is putting together a 1981 Mini City with his father, Gary, aiming to finish it in time for his 16th birthday.
“Events like UK Garage & Bodyshop are invaluable because they allow us to have face-to-face conversations with the people we support every day — which you just cannot beat!” Lam said.
