Wilwood Disc Brakes has launched a new line of high-performance Flexlines engineered as direct replacements for factory rubber brake lines on original equipment (OE) calipers, with pricing starting at $66.14. The Camarillo, California-based manufacturer designed the OE Flexline kits to match the length and fittings of each vehicle’s original hardlines, based on year, make, and model. Every line is pressure-tested to 1,800 PSI before shipping and includes the mounting hardware needed for the vehicle’s original-equipment calipers, according to the company. Wilwood notes the OE lines are not compatible with its full caliper lineup.
Highlights
- PTFE (Teflon) inner liner resists expansion under pressure and tolerates higher temperatures than rubber lines, the company says
- Stainless steel braid layer adds mechanical strength, which Wilwood says delivers a firmer pedal feel and quicker response
- PVC (polyvinyl chloride) armor outer layer protects against abrasion and chafing
- Every line is pressure-tested to 1,800 PSI; MSRP starts at $66.14
Three-Layer Construction
Each OE Flexline is built around an inner liner of PTFE, which the company says resists expansion under pressure and withstands higher temperatures than a rubber factory line. A tightly woven stainless steel braid wraps the PTFE layer, adding mechanical strength and further limiting hose expansion — a combination Wilwood says produces a firmer pedal feel, quicker response, and greater control under braking. A PVC armor coating forms the outer layer, guarding against abrasion and chafing while giving the line a clean, finished appearance.
The construction follows the same braided-stainless approach behind Wilwood’s other Flexline hardware, including the Weld-On Tabs and Axle Clamp kits the company introduced for solid-axle mounting applications.
Fitment and Testing
Wilwood pressure-tests every OE Flexline to 1,800 PSI and packages each kit with the mounting hardware required for the vehicle’s original-equipment calipers, matched by year, make, and model. The company cautions that the OE lines are not compatible with its full caliper range, so buyers should confirm fitment before ordering. Pricing starts at $66.14 per line.
The OE-specific push mirrors Wilwood’s recent front brake kit releases engineered to bolt onto factory hardware without modification, reflecting a broader emphasis on OE-compatible upgrades across the company’s product lines.
