Wilwood Aero6-DM Front Brake Kit Fits 2007–2015 Tundra

Wilwood has released an Aero6-DM direct-mount front brake kit for 2007–2015 Toyota Tundra trucks, pairing six-piston Aerolite calipers with 13.39-inch rotors. MSRP starts at $1,966.26.

Wilwood Engineering has released its Aero6-DM direct-mount front brake kit for 2007–2015 Toyota Tundra 2WD and 4WD trucks, with an MSRP starting at $1,966.26. The bolt-on kit pairs a forged aluminum six-piston Aerolite caliper with 13.39-inch by 1.26-inch vented rotors and is compatible with the factory master cylinder, ABS, and electronic controls. The Camarillo, California-based manufacturer outlined the specifications on its website, positioning the kit as a replacement for the Tundra’s stock rotors and cast-iron calipers.

Highlights

  • Forged aluminum six-piston Aerolite calipers bolt directly to the Tundra spindle, eliminating bracketry on 17-inch and larger wheels
  • 13.39-inch by 1.26-inch e-coated rotors with 66 internal cooling vanes, available in GTB slotted or SRP drilled-and-slotted faces
  • BP-22 ceramic-compound pads formulated for street, off-road, and towing duty
  • MSRP starts at $1,966.26 with gloss red or black powder-coat calipers standard; additional colors carry a surcharge

Caliper and Rotor Construction

The Aero6-DM caliper is a forged aluminum six-piston Aerolite unit engineered to bolt directly to the Tundra’s factory spindle and hub locations. Wilwood positions the direct-mount approach as an installation simplification — no mounting brackets, adapters, or relocation hardware are required, and the kit clears most 17-inch and larger wheels.

Rotor dimensions are 13.39 inches in diameter by 1.26 inches thick, vented and e-coated against corrosion. Buyers can specify either a GTB slotted face or an SRP drilled-and-slotted face. Both rotor options use a 66-vane internal cooling design. That vane count is a step up from the 48-vane rotors used in earlier Aero6-DM kits for the RAM 1500 and Ford F-150 platforms.

Pad Compound and Application Range

The kits ship with Wilwood’s BP-22 ceramic-based pad compound, which the company describes as suitable for street, off-road, and towing applications. The BP-22 specification represents a shift from the BP-Q dual-sport compound that has accompanied prior Aero6-DM releases for the 4Runner, F-150, Raptor, and RAM 1500. Wilwood has not published comparative friction or temperature-range data between the two compounds.

Wilwood is targeting the kit at high-demand duty cycles — towing, hauling, commercial workloads, and off-road use — where the company says the larger pad and rotor mass provides additional thermal capacity over the OE setup.

Compatibility and Included Hardware

The system is engineered to work with the Tundra’s factory master cylinder, ABS module, and electronic stability controls without modification. Each kit ships with stainless steel braided Flexlines and premium-grade installation hardware. Calipers are offered in gloss red or gloss black powder coat as standard, with additional color options at extra cost.

Tundra Platform Context

The 2007–2015 fitment covers the second-generation Tundra, which Toyota produced in significant volume across both light-duty and tow-rated configurations. The platform predates Toyota’s 2022 third-generation redesign and remains a high-volume target for aftermarket brake upgrades because of its age, towing use cases, and the well-documented heat-fade complaints associated with the OE cast-iron front calipers under sustained load.
