Wagner Adds ES Pads, ES Rotors, and Brake Bolt Kits to Aftermarket Lineup

DRiV has expanded its Wagner aftermarket braking lineup with new ES pads, ES rotors, and brake bolt kits, with premium rotors scheduled to follow later in May 2026.

DRiV announced on May 5 that it has expanded its Wagner-branded aftermarket braking range with new ES brake pads, ES rotors, and brake bolt kits, with premium rotors scheduled to follow later in May. The additions broaden coverage for technicians servicing North America’s aging vehicle parc. The launch was confirmed in a DRiV press release tied to its Wagner braking portfolio. DRiV is a Tenneco aftermarket business group.

Highlights

  • New Wagner ES pads, ES rotors, and brake bolt kits available now; premium rotors slated for later in May
  • ES pads feature a three-layer noise-reducing shim and a corrosion-resistant backplate, per DRiV
  • ES line joins the existing QS, OEx, SD, and PPV Wagner pad tiers, broadening application coverage
  • Launch targets the aftermarket service segment, where average U.S. vehicle age now exceeds 12 years

Product Range and Positioning

The expansion adds four product groups to the Wagner aftermarket catalog. According to DRiV, the ES brake pads carry an OE-style fit and formulation, a three-layer shim intended to reduce noise, and a corrosion-resistant backplate. The company says the pads are dynamometer-tested against real-world driving conditions, though no comparative test data was disclosed.

The ES rotors are described as precision-balanced with an application-specific vane design and a ready-to-install finish that does not require machining. The forthcoming premium rotors are positioned for reduced break-in time and pad bedding support. Brake bolt kits round out the launch and are intended to replace single-use original-equipment fasteners during pad and rotor service.

The new ES pads slot alongside Wagner’s existing QS, OEx, SD, and PPV pad tiers, while the ES and premium rotors join the brand’s standard painted and severe-duty rotor offerings. DRiV’s broader aftermarket strategy under Tenneco has been to expand SKU coverage across its DRiV-branded aftermarket portfolio, which spans Wagner, Ferodo, MOOG, and Monroe.

Executive Comment

Joseph Saoud, vice president and general manager, U.S. and Canada at DRiV, framed the launch around technician workflow rather than performance claims.

“Wagner has built its reputation on delivering braking solutions that drivers and technicians trust,” Saoud said. “With these additions, we’re giving technicians the right combination of pads, rotors and hardware to complete the job with confidence and consistency.”

Market Context

The Wagner expansion arrives as the U.S. light-vehicle parc continues to age. S&P Global Mobility’s most recent industry estimate places the average age of vehicles on U.S. roads at roughly 12.6 years, the highest on record, which has supported sustained aftermarket brake service demand.

The launch also lands in a competitive window. Akebono recently expanded its ProACT and EURO ceramic pad lines with seven new part numbers covering more than two million additional vehicles in operation. Both moves reflect the same underlying dynamic: aftermarket suppliers competing on application breadth and SKU depth rather than headline performance figures.
