WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Railcar pooling company TTX has once again named New York Air Brake LLC (NYAB) to its elite class of Excellent Suppliers.
As part of the 2020 honorees, NYAB was recognized for its commitment to helping TTX exceed customer expectations for quality, cost, on-time delivery, service excellence, plus finance and administration.
NYAB was evaluated in three categories – OE brakes, Rail Services (repair centers), and Friction (ABS). All categories must achieve an “A” rating and a SECO cumulative rating no less than 92.0 to qualify for the “Excellent Supplier” designation.
Realignment for NYAB Operations
“Surpassing customer expectations and manufacturing world-class systems and components requires open communication and a team committed to excellence in all parts of our operation,” said Ulisses Camilo, New York Air Brake president and CEO. “TTX expects suppliers to reach a superior level of service, performance, reliability, quality, and responsiveness, and we are well-prepared to deliver.
“We are truly honored to have earned this distinction.”
Headquartered in Watertown, N.Y., NYAB is a global manufacturer of innovative train control systems for the railroad industry. NYAB has been recognized as an Excellent Supplier by TTX nearly 20 times.
Chicago-based TTX is a leading supplier of railcars and related freight car management services to the North American rail industry. The company’s right-sized, low-cost, reliable fleet of more than 168,000 railcars serves North America’s railroads and the world’s freight needs.
TTX selects the list of annual honorees through a committee whose members are directly involved in railcar component purchases and product performance. The sought-after designation has been in place for over 30 years.
“Our passion for exceptional quality, service, and support, at all levels, is unwavering, and it all begins with a strong relationship built on trust,” Camillo said. “The TTX SECO process is among the most comprehensive and stringent supplier evaluations in the rail industry, making the designation one of the most prestigious.
“Receiving this award for a second consecutive year reflects our company-wide commitment to consistently improve and go beyond what is expected.”
