Advanced Friction Technology
TRW’s new brake pads leverage ZF’s expertise in friction materials to offer riders superior stopping power and consistent performance. The pads provide a stronger initial grip, which contributes to reliable braking across demanding scenarios. The innovative friction compound eliminates Copper, Nickel, and Antimony, reducing environmental impact while maintaining durability. This results in pads that are tough on stopping but gentle on the planet, with all products adhering to strict safety regulations.
Rollout and Portfolio Transition
The transition covers a significant portion of TRW’s motorcycle brake pad range. Five out of twelve friction materials have already been updated, with two more in development. This means over 80% of the portfolio has transitioned, aiming for 90% by year’s end. Prioritization targets high-demand segments, starting with ALLROUND (No Suffix) and EC, followed by SV, SH (Sinter Street) and SRM (Maxi Scooter). SI (Offroad Sinter) is slated for completion by year’s end, and PC (Performance Comfort) pads by the third or fourth quarter.

Upgrading to these pads is straightforward for professionals. The new friction materials are fully compatible with older versions, enabling safe use together on the same axle. Packaging and part numbers stay the same, simplifying inventory management and installation. This approach minimizes disruption, allowing distributors and workshops to maximize uptime and efficiency.
