Standard Motor Products, Inc. (SMP) has significantly expanded its ABS Sensor program, now boasting nearly 2,500 SKUs for both import and domestic vehicles. Standard® ABS Sensors are specifically designed for accuracy, speed, and durability, tested to match original equipment (OE) voltage output, resistance, and trigger wheel gap. The sensors are a vital part of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), contributing to the safety and functionality of vehicles.

  • Nearly 2,500 SKUs now available for import and domestic vehicles
  • ABS sensors are essential for ADAS features like electronic stability control and automated braking
  • New additions cover over 9 million General Motors vehicles, including 2024-20 Heavy-Duty trucks and the Cadillac CT4
  • Designed for durability under extreme conditions, ensuring longevity

Standard® ABS Sensors play an integral role in vehicles’ ADAS systems, affecting critical safety functions like electronic stability control, automated braking, and hill hold assist. The evolution of ABS sensors has been driven by the introduction of more advanced safety features, which now require them to monitor not only wheel speed but also direction. Standard® ABS Sensors utilize multiple micro sensors to track both speed and direction, ensuring that all safety systems function as intended. This sets Standard apart from other aftermarket suppliers.

Each Standard® ABS Speed Sensor is meticulously engineered and tested to ensure high performance, matching OE specifications for speed and direction measurement. Given the reliance of electronic safety systems on real-time data, these sensors are designed for rapid processing speeds. Built from durable synthetic materials, the sensors withstand extreme temperatures and harsh undercar conditions, ensuring they endure over time. Furthermore, many of these sensors include a protective sleeve to prevent short circuits due to chafing.

Recent additions to Standard’s ABS Sensor program extend coverage to over 9 million General Motors vehicles, including models such as 2024-20 Heavy-Duty trucks, the 2024-20 Cadillac CT4, and the 2022-15 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. The expanded coverage also includes domestic vehicles like the 2024-22 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer, 2024-19 RAM 1500 and 3500, and 2022-21 Ford EcoSport. On the import side, additions cover popular models such as the 2024-20 Nissan Sentra, 2022-19 Toyota Prius, 2020-18 Honda Accord, and 2020-18 Hyundai Santa Fe.

John Herc, Vice President of Vehicle Control Marketing at SMP, emphasized the importance of these sensors: “ABS sensors are critically important to the safety of occupants in today’s vehicles, and ensuring that electronic safety systems are operating properly is of utmost importance. You can count on Standard® to provide ABS Sensors that operate the way they’re intended to and last.”

All Standard® ABS Sensors are listed in the eCatalog found at StandardBrand.com and through electronic catalog providers.
