Bosch and Ducati have co-developed the innovative race eCBS for the new Ducati Panigale V4, enhancing braking and cornering performance specifically for racetrack use. This advanced system will debut at World Ducati Week 2024 in Misano.
Key Highlights:
- Enhanced performance: Race eCBS improves braking stability and cornering on the racetrack.
- Innovative technology: Based on Bosch’s proven eCBS system.
- Real-time data checks: System monitors brake pressure and vehicle dynamics 100 times per second.
- Premier debut: Unveiled at World Ducati Week 2024 in Misano.

Gaining seconds on corners and improving lap times is essential for racetrack riders. Bosch addresses this challenge with its new race eCBS, a system designed to optimize braking and cornering. Built on the established eCBS technology, this new brake system will make its debut on the Ducati Panigale V4 during World Ducati Week 2024.
Fevzi Yildirim, head of Bosch Two-Wheeler and Powersports in Europe, stated, “The Bosch and Ducati Engineering teams have worked very intensively and in numerous tests on a function that specifically improves racetrack braking and cornering performance.”
Race eCBS combines the front and rear brakes automatically, even when only one is applied. This system leverages data such as front brake pressure, lean angle, side-slip angle, and rear-wheel slip, processing it 100 times per second. This allows the rear brake to be applied effectively without additional rider input, ensuring stability and optimal braking.
“The major advantages of this next-level technology are that it improves braking stability, average deceleration, and cornering while braking on the racetrack without any need for additional effort to manually control the rear brake,” Yildirim explained. This function benefits riders of all levels, allowing even professional riders to focus more on riding rather than manually controlling the rear brake.

Alessandro Valia, Ducati’s official tester, added, “Ducati has always looked for innovative solutions and aimed for absolute performance from its products. The new race eCBS system has the dual value of both improving the bike’s braking performance and, above all, allowing every user to access riding levels that were previously out of their reach.”
The collaboration between Bosch and Ducati spans over 15 years, consistently pushing the boundaries of motorcycle safety and performance. This partnership continues to set new standards in two-wheeler mobility.
Bosch will also participate in World Ducati Week, the largest Ducati rally, from July 26 to 28 at the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit. They will offer talks, round tables, and hands-on demonstrations through the Ducati Riding Academy and Ducati Riding Experience courses, focusing on the latest safety technologies, including the race eCBS.
With this latest innovation, Bosch and Ducati reinforce their commitment to enhancing motorcycle performance and safety, ensuring that riders can achieve their best on the racetrack.
