Continental Appoints Nino Romano as CTO of Automotive Group

Continental has appointed Nino Romano as CTO of its Automotive group sector, effective February 1, 2025. Romano, formerly head of Automotive Quality and Operations, will now lead the integration of technology and operations as the company prepares for its independent listing.

“With his extensive experience and expertise, Nino Romano is the ideal person to merge the key areas of technology and operations as CTO. This will create additional value for our customers and investors while enhancing innovation efficiency,” said Philipp von Hirschheydt, member of the Continental Executive Board and head of the Automotive group sector.

A Leader in Technology and Operations

Romano has been with Continental for over three decades, holding various leadership roles in research, development, and quality management. His career milestones include:

  • 2011: Head of electronic brake systems development in Vehicle Dynamics.
  • 2020: Joined Automotive Management Board as head of Quality and Environment.
  • 2024: Led Quality and Operations for the Automotive group.

Romano succeeds Gilles Mabire, who left the company in November 2024. Moving forward, the quality division will be organized as an independent function within the Automotive group.
