Collins Aerospace, an RTX (NYSE: RTX) business, has announced a significant $200 million investment to expand its carbon brake production facility in Spokane, Washington. This multi-year project aims to increase the site’s manufacturing capacity by over 50%, adding 70,000 square feet of space to meet the rising demand for carbon brakes from commercial and military sectors.

The Spokane site specializes in the production of braking systems using DURACARB® carbon disk technology, known for its longer brake life and cost savings. Carbon brakes offer superior durability and can withstand high temperatures, making them ideal for both commercial and military applications.
Governor Jay Inslee expressed his support, stating, “We are excited to see Collins select Washington state for this expansion of high-tech manufacturing. These new jobs will add to a growing aerospace sector in Spokane County, and the state has committed to partnering on further efforts that ensure the county can offer companies a world-class aerospace workforce and positive business environment.”
