MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers has announced Brendan Morris as the new Chair of the Brake Manufacturers Council® (BMC). Morris, the Vice President of Sales at GRI Engineering, will take over from John Bennett of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions. With over two decades of experience in the automotive and aftermarket braking sectors, Morris is set to guide BMC through industry standards, regulatory challenges, and technological advancements.

Morris expressed the importance of BMC, especially during these challenging times for the aftermarket braking industry. He emphasized the need for collaboration among industry professionals to navigate market challenges and regulatory changes. “We are currently facing an unprecedented period in the history of aftermarket braking,” said Morris. “The importance of BMC is now more apparent than ever. It serves as a platform where industry professionals can collaborate to share insights about market challenges and unite to address regulations. This enables us to navigate the obstacles affecting our business and products, ultimately delivering superior outcomes.”

Morris’s appointment is effective immediately, and he will lead his first BMC meeting this November during AAPEX. The council anticipates his guidance during a time of both opportunities and challenges in the automotive aftermarket sector.
