Brake Parts Inc. is preparing to move its R&D from Kentucky to its Illinois headquarters.

DETROIT, Mich.–Brake Parts Inc. is preparing to move its research and development function from Kentucky to its headquarters in McHenry, Illinois.

The McHenry City Council has approved a tax abatement for the company, paving the way for a $4 million building project that will create some 20 new jobs. BPI last December announced that it is deepening its commitment to McHenry where it has its largest distribution facility by continuing its lease after the sale of the property.

BPI is a global leader in brake technology, engineering, testing, production and logistics. It’s brands include Raybestos, AIMCO, Vortex, American Brakeblok and Lusac.
