Accossato says its GA brake master cylinder, a motorcycle braking component developed entirely in-house, is protected by a European patent whose validity has now been confirmed. The Italian manufacturer describes the GA brake master cylinder as a solution conceived within the company for riders, tuners, racing teams, and industry professionals. According to Accossato, the patent recognizes the component as an original design and reinforces the company’s position as a developer of proprietary braking technology rather than only a manufacturer of components.
A Component Developed Within Accossato
Accossato says the GA brake master cylinder was created to address the practical needs of riders, tuners, racing teams, and professionals, guided by a focus on functional, recognizable technical solutions. The company has pursued similar in-house engineering across its component lines, including a recently introduced nickel-plated caliper finish developed through an exclusive internal process.
The company says it undertook a combined technical and legal process to secure protection for the GA project, and it frames confirmation of the patent’s validity as an industrial and strategic milestone rather than a purely legal one.
Why the Patent Matters to Distributors
For its distribution network — including its exclusive North American distributor, Essex Moto Parts — Accossato positions patent protection as assurance that the component reflects proprietary technology and in-house development backed by racing experience. The company says it intends to continue investing in research, development, and protection of its technical designs.
