The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid, which starts at $35,490, pairs one-pedal e-Pedal regenerative braking with a new Smooth Stop function that automatically modulates brake pressure at the end of a stop. Nissan detailed both features in its 2027 Rogue Hybrid press kit, along with a foundation brake package that uses vented discs at all four corners and an electric brake booster. The company says e-Pedal is exclusive among hybrids in the Rogue’s class, based on AutoPacific segmentation.
Highlights
- Pricing starts at $35,490 for the SV AWD grade, not including a $1,575 destination and handling charge.
- Front rotors measure 13.78 x 1.18 inches (350 x 30 mm) and rear rotors measure 12.99 x 0.63 inches (330 x 16 mm). Both axles use vented discs.
- e-Pedal brings the vehicle to a full stop when the driver lifts off the accelerator. Smooth Stop modulates brake pressure to reduce head-toss.
- Curb weight ranges from 4,065 lbs on the SV to 4,167 lbs on the Platinum, with a GVWR of 4,641 lbs.
How Do e-Pedal and Smooth Stop Work?
e-Pedal is a one-pedal regenerative braking feature. With it, drivers can slow the Rogue Hybrid all the way to a full stop just by lifting off the accelerator pedal.
Smooth Stop automatically modulates brake pressure as a stop finishes. Nissan says this reduces head-toss and makes stopping more controlled, especially in stop-and-go traffic.
The standard dual-motor electric all-wheel drive system also uses the brakes. It continuously adjusts torque distribution between the front and rear motors, and it can apply light braking to the inside wheels to sharpen cornering.
Foundation Brake Hardware
| Axle | Type | Rotor Size (in.) | Rotor Size (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Front | Vented disc | 13.78 x 1.18 | 350 x 30 |
| Rear | Vented disc | 12.99 x 0.63 | 330 x 16 |
Every grade comes standard with the following:
- Electric booster for brake assist actuation
- Electronic parking brake with auto-hold
- ABS, Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist
- Hill Start Assist and a brake-based limited-slip function (ABLS)
Weight distribution is 57/43 front-to-rear on the SV and 56/44 on the SR and Platinum. Rated trailer towing capacity is 1,500 lbs when properly equipped.
Braking-Based Driver Assistance
Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian, Cyclist and Intersection Assist is standard, as are Multi-Collision Braking and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning. Rear Automatic Braking is optional on the SR and standard on the Platinum. ProPILOT Emergency Stop is standard on both of those grades.
Nissan says the updated Intelligent Cruise Control detects slowing or stopped vehicles 33% sooner than the 2026 Rogue’s system did. It also operates at lower speeds, down to 12 mph.
Powertrain and Availability
The Rogue Hybrid uses Nissan’s e-POWER system. A 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine works only as a generator and never drives the wheels. Dual electric motors produce a combined 225 horsepower, and the hybrid battery is a 1.67 kWh lithium-ion pack.
“The all-new Rogue Hybrid is exactly what customers have been asking for: the functionality, technology and packaging of a Rogue, now paired with an advanced hybrid powertrain that enhances efficiency while delivering a dynamic driving experience,” said Ponz Pandikuthira, senior vice president, chief product and planning officer, Nissan Americas.
Nissan targets fuel economy of up to 41 mpg city, 36 mpg highway and 38 mpg combined for the SR. These figures come from Nissan’s internal testing and are subject to EPA confirmation. The SR AWD with SR Technology Package reaches dealers in fall 2026, and the SV, SR and Platinum grades follow in early 2027. Production takes place at Nissan Motor Kyushu in Japan.
