Toyota has partnered with Pro-Cut to implement standardized brake service training across its North American service network. The collaboration integrates Pro-Cut X15 rotor matching technology into Toyota and Lexus technician certification programs.
More than 40 Pro-Cut X15 brake lathes have been deployed at Toyota North American training centers to support the initiative.
Highlights
- Toyota deploys 40+ Pro-Cut X15 brake lathes at North American training facilities for technician certification
- Program supports warranty service bulletins requiring rotor matching across all Toyota and Lexus dealerships
- X15 features 48-volt DC motor technology enabling tighter run-out tolerances and improved surface finishes
- Training addresses brake service consistency while managing warranty performance and customer satisfaction
Program Scope and Implementation
The training program ensures technicians gain hands-on experience with Pro-Cut’s rotor matching technology. Toyota’s initiative aligns with warranty service bulletins that outline rotor matching requirements across all dealerships.
“Toyota is known globally for its commitment to quality and innovation, and we are proud to see that philosophy extend to their service training,” said Jeff Hastings, president of Pro-Cut.
The partnership aims to enhance brake service quality and warranty performance across the dealer network.
X15 Technology Specifications
The Pro-Cut X15 on-car brake lathe represents the first rotor matching system driven by a 48-volt DC motor. Key features include:
- Smooth operation with tighter run-out tolerances
- Superior surface finishes compared to conventional systems
- Integrated computer system providing disc tracking and maintenance alerts
- Variable speed control for precision machining
Industry Adoption
Pro-Cut’s rotor matching systems are recommended or mandated for warranty service by nearly every major automotive manufacturer in the United States.
“The company looks forward to working with additional OEMs to develop similar training partnerships that improve brake service consistency while managing warranty service costs,” Hastings said.
