Orlando, Fla. – The final day of the 37th Annual SAE International Brake Colloquium & Exhibition opens with an extensive two-part tech session on Wheel Bearings and Seals.
This tech session will focus on innovations in wheel bearings and their integration into the vehicle. Presenters and panelists will address topics such as mass optimization, drag reduction, enterprise cost, warranty reduction, Brinelling, sealing corner splash protection, lateral stiffness, lubrication, validation, coatings and new technology.
The topic’s scope mandates 10 sub-sessions, three on lubrication alone! Corrosion, wheel-stud, wheel-bolt manufacturing and bearing life optimization are also covered.
Wrapping up the bearings and seals event is an after-lunch panel discussion featuring Kelly Grubaugh, ILJIN USA Corporation; Jennifer Hypes, Timken; Shakeel Shaikh, Schaeffer Group USA Inc.; Keith Sharp, Koyo Bearings of North America, and Cengiz R. Shevket, SKF. The group was organized by three ILJIN USA representatives: Grubaugh, Robert Sutherllin and Richard Haehn.
