40th BRAKE Rolls into Grand Rapids Sunday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The brake industry will begin gathering in Grand Rapids Sunday (Sept. 25th) for the 40th annual SAE Brake Colloquium & Exhibition (BRAKE) which gets underway Monday morning (Sept. 26th) with a unique program.

“Show Me the Money — An Investor’s View of the Auto Business of the Future,” kicks off the 40th-annual BRAKE program (the event runs from the 25th to the 28th with a pair of distinguished panelists and moderator: Mark Gottfredson, Director and Founder, Bain & Company, Inc.; James C. Penman, Managing Director, Automotive & Truck, DPP, and (moderator) Prachi Vakharia, Transport Specialist, Amazon.

How to allocate capital and capacity, together with developing operating strategies for legacy as well as future businesses (such as spin-offs and joint ventures), now dominate management and Board of Directors discussions.

In this first of its kind Roundtable for the Colloquium, experienced automotive investors and deal makers discuss the following questions:

How should OEMs and suppliers balance investments between legacy assets vs. growth bets?

How do you see capital and resource allocation shifting?

What are today’s key factors in value creation in an automotive related business?

What is your role in supporting these changes?
