Spirit Airlines has announced the renewal of its long-standing partnership with Safran Landing Systems, ensuring the continued supply and maintenance of wheels and carbon brakes for its Airbus A320 fleet. This agreement, revealed at MRO Americas in Atlanta on April 9, 2025, reinforces Spirit’s dedication to delivering reliable and affordable air travel across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean, while spotlighting Safran’s expertise in aviation technology.

This renewed contract builds on a 20-year collaboration between the two companies. It ensures that Spirit Airlines can maintain its operational efficiency by securing high-quality wheels and carbon brakes for its current and future A320ceo and A320neo aircraft. The agreement supports Spirit’s mission to provide cost-effective travel options while upholding rigorous safety and performance standards.
The wheels and brakes will be produced at Safran Landing Systems’ facility in Walton, Kentucky, a hub staffed by 400 highly qualified employees. Additionally, comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services will be provided through Safran’s network across multiple states, including Florida, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Texas, and Nevada, ensuring swift and dependable support for Spirit’s operations.
