AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Chrysler Corporation (FCA, Stellantis) is recalling certain model-year 2019-2020 RAM 4500/5500 cab/chassis units which may have rear brake hoses with out of specification orifice diameters.

The 26,961 vehicles within the recall population might have the incorrect hoses, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Part 573 Safety Recall Report 22V-759.

The report cites a potential safety hazard as, “A brake hose that does not meet constriction requirements may be more susceptible to hose assembly rupture. A ruptured brake hose could result in reduced braking performance, which may increase the risk of a crash without prior warning”

No crashes or injuries due to the fitment of the incorrect hoses were reported.

The remedy is replacement of these hoses with ones having correct internal specifications.

RAM dealers and owners are scheduled to receive notification of the recall on or before Nov. 30th. Repairs will be conducted at no cost to the dealers or owners.
