CHATHAM, Mass. – I feel like I am one of the summer visitors to the tonier resorts on Cape Cod as I drive around Chatham in the all-new 2025 Infiniti QX80 Autograph, top of the range for the three-row, seven-passenger luxury sport-utility vehicle (SUV) family.
This large, powerful, machine is filled with virtually every modern piece of technology, amenities, conveniences and advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) the Infiniti engineers and product planners could imagine. It is their means to create an ultimate luxury large SUV.
Power up to the challenge
All-new in the case of the 2025 QX80 includes a new twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter, double overhead camshaft, 24-valve V6 engine. The redesigned engine when compared to the previous QX80 features 50 more horsepower at 450 and 103 pounds-feet more torque with a 516 total.
This power flows through a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (AWD) system. According to Infiniti, both were engineered to provide better acceleration and more-efficient operation, resulting in a 10% fuel-economy improvement.
By the numbers this also meant 0-60 miles-per-hour acceleration in less than six seconds (according to Car and Driver testing) and a federal Environmental Protection Agency rating of 15 miles per gallon in urban driving and 19 on the highway. My heavy right foot resulted in 18.6 mpg in overall driving which reflects quite nicely against the EPA rating of 17 overall.

Platform performs
The Infiniti engineers built the QX80 Autograph’s platform on a sophisticated set of components. An independent double-wishbone setup is featured front and rear. The Autograph model includes an electronic air suspension system and what Infiniti calls Dynamic Digital Suspension.
“The Dynamic Digital Suspension constantly measures the vehicle’s motion and calculates the required damping force for electronically controlled dampers. By regulating vehicle motions, reducing body roll around curves and minimizing up-and-down motions over bouncy roads, the system delivers smoother and more in-control lane changes, and enhanced ride quality,” is how the company describes its capabilities.
The remainder of the major platform components include a four-wheel disc-brake system with 13.78-inch rotors front and rear, the fronts featuring twin-piston calipers and single ones up front.
The P275/50R22 all-season tires are fitted to 22×8-inch cast aluminum alloy wheels.
These pieces and systems combine to provide a smooth, comfortable ride over virtually any type of road surface. I always felt secure when pushing the approximately 6,000-pound vehicle on twisting roads and through traffic. The 2025 QX80 is a big vehicle (211.2-inches long, 92.5 wide with mirrors extended and 77.9 high), but thanks to its sophisticated suspension and the extensive list of advanced driver-assistance systems is easy to maneuver, even on the tight, tourist-filled summer streets of Cape Cod.
Comprehensive ADAS roster for QX80 Autograph
The ADAS components begin with ProPILOT Assist1.1 and ProPILOT Assist 2.1. The first combines Intelligent Cruise Control with steering assistance to aid the driver in staying centered in their lane. The system also uses data from the standard navigation system to proactively adjust vehicle speed for curves, interchanges and other driving situations.
ProPILOT Assist 2.1 adds the capability of limited hands-off-the-wheel driving in certain highway situations (I was unable to test this system).
The ADAS list also includes Predictive Forward Collision Warning, automatic emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, Blind Spot Intervention®, lane-departure prevention, traffic-sign recognition, surround-view monitor with invisible-hood view (camera shows what is directly in front of the QX80 Autograph as if the front of the vehicle was not there) and trailer blind-spot warning which works when towing trailers up to 33 feet in length.
Technology, amenities, conveniences fill the comfortable cabin
Infiniti filled the 2025 QX80 Autograph with virtually every modern comfort, convenience and technology feature of which could be conceived. Most obvious are the displays – two 14.3-inch ones on the dash for the instrument cluster and infotainment system — and two nine-inch touch-screen ones, one between the center console and the dash, the other on the rear center console, which control the three-zone automatic climate-control system.
The infotainment system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth streaming audio, satellite radio, Google-based navigation (including Google Earth views for the map) and a 24-speaker, 1,200-Watt Klipsch® Reference Premiere audio system. The system includes an individual-audio feature which allows certain audio functions – such as navigation directions and phone calls – to be directed to the driver’s head-rest-mounted speaker.
Dot-quilted, semi-aniline leather adorns all seven seating positions which are power adjustable, heated, ventilated and massaging in the first two rows with the third having power assist for collapsing/raising the back rest.
The steering wheel is power adjustable, leather covered and heated.
A look through the front windshield reveals a large heads-up display while looking up allows a view of the sky through the standard panoramic power moonroof.
USB Type-C ports are available in every row with a total of eight throughout the cabin, featuring up to 15-Watt/3.0-amp power ratings for rapidly charging devices. Additionally, a wireless phone charger is located inside the front center console.
The Autograph trim includes a cool box in the center console which, when activated, directs air-conditioned air into the compartment to help chill the contents – and it works very well! It is large enough for a six pack of soda.
This is a sample of the 2025 QX80 Autograph’s features, one of the most fully equipped luxury SUVs I have ever driven.
The price of luxury
Infiniti offers six flavors of the new QX80 beginning with the rear-wheel drive Pure at $82,450 through the AWD Autograph like I sampled at $110,595 ($112,590 as reviewed thanks to a $1,995 destination charge and $695 for special paint).
Luxury always has a price and the new 2025 QX80 Autograph is engineered, equipped and priced to compete with the international names in the luxury segment. There is a lot of SUV here and it fills its role admirably.
