NRS Galvanized Brakes Join Mighty Distribution Network

NRS Brakes has partnered with Mighty Distributing System of America to bring its galvanized, mechanically attached brake pads to Mighty's franchised distributors and service providers across North America.

NRS Brakes has formed a distribution partnership with Mighty Distributing System of America that will put its galvanized, mechanically attached brake pads into Mighty’s network of franchised distributors and service providers across North America. The deal adds NRS Galvanized Brakes, a pad line built on galvanized steel backing plates and a patented method that locks friction material to the plate without adhesive, to Mighty’s automotive parts portfolio. NRS describes the line as engineered to eliminate the most common causes of brake failure, including corrosion, friction separation, poor fitment, and noise-related comebacks.

Highlights

  • Mighty’s franchised distributors and service providers gain access to NRS Galvanized Brakes through the partnership.
  • NRS pads use a patented mechanical attachment that locks friction material to the backing plate, in place of the adhesive bonding used by conventional aftermarket pads.
  • Galvanized steel backing plates and OE-specified mechanical retention target corrosion and delamination.
  • Kits include the hardware needed for the job, with electronic wear sensors and noise-reducing piston inserts where applicable.

A New Distribution Channel for NRS

Under the agreement, customers of Mighty Distributing System of America — a distributor of automotive parts, chemical products, lubricants, and shop supplies that operates through a franchised network — will be able to source NRS Galvanized Brakes alongside Mighty’s existing catalog.

Montu Khokhar, CEO of NRS Brakes, said the partnership broadens the manufacturer’s reach into the professional installer channel.

“We are excited to partner with Mighty and bring our unique brake technology to their extensive network of distributors, service providers, and automotive professionals. Mighty has built an outstanding reputation by helping repair facilities increase profitability through premium products and exceptional support. Together, we can provide technicians and vehicle owners with a brake solution that lasts longer, performs better, and significantly reduces warranty-related issues.”

Mrudank Patel, Senior Product Manager at Mighty, framed the addition as a way to give franchisees a differentiated brake option.

“At Mighty, we continuously evaluate products that can help our customers improve performance, reduce comebacks, and differentiate themselves in a competitive market. NRS Galvanized Brakes offer a compelling combination of durability, corrosion resistance, OE-inspired engineering, and noise reduction technology. We are excited to add NRS to our portfolio and provide our franchisees and customers with a premium brake solution that delivers measurable value.”

Both companies tie the agreement to vehicles staying on the road longer and to growing consumer demand for reliable replacement parts.

How Does NRS Attach Friction Material Without Adhesive?

NRS builds its pads differently from most aftermarket lines. Rather than bonding friction material to the backing plate with adhesive, the company’s galvanized, mechanically attached design locks the friction layer to the plate through a patented retention method, which NRS says prevents the delamination that can separate pad material from the plate in service. The backing plates themselves are galvanized steel for corrosion resistance, and the company pairs the construction with integrated noise-reducing technology.

NRS lists the following features for the line:

  • Mechanical attachment — patented design intended to prevent delamination
  • Galvanized steel backing plates — for corrosion protection
  • Z Number OE-specified coverage — friction matched to original-equipment specifications
  • OE-tolerance fit — engineered to original-equipment fit and function
  • Piston cushion technology — for quieter braking and reduced vibration
  • Electronic wear sensors — included where applicable
  • Complete kit — everything required for the brake job in the box

According to NRS, the construction is designed to keep the pad usable to the final millimeter of friction material.
