- OnGuardMAX complies with cybersecurity regulations (UNECE R155), requiring no additional gateway ECU.
Main Developments in OnGuardMAX
Building on previous versions, the latest OnGuardMAX introduces new safety enhancements aimed at improving object detection and speed adjustments. The Moving Off Information System (MOIS) is particularly important in urban environments, where pedestrians or objects may not be visible from the driver’s elevated position. Additionally, features like Highway Assist and Traffic Jam Assist automatically adjust the vehicle’s speed and maintain a safe distance, reducing driver fatigue in congested traffic.
Philipp Helmich, Senior Vice President and head of the Product Line Chassis Control (CVS) at ZF, said, “With the launch of OnGuardMAX, we have introduced enhanced features that make it an industry-leading driver assistance system. Our latest version demonstrates how we continue to lead the industry in developing new technologies to improve commercial vehicle safety.”
Modular Brake Platform mBSP XBS
ZF’s modular brake platform, mBSP XBS, is already in series production with major European manufacturers. It features a simplified system layout with centralized intelligence, housed in a single ECU. This modular system can be customized to meet the demands of varying automation levels, offering scalable features that enhance vehicle safety.
Advanced Automation and Regulation Compliance
OnGuardMAX exceeds current GSR guidelines and is ready to support higher levels of vehicle automation. By fusing radar and camera data, the system enhances object detection and can automatically apply brakes when necessary, improving overall road safety. Additionally, it integrates advanced driver assistance features such as Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) and lane assist functions for safer highway driving.
This latest version is equipped to handle more complex driving scenarios, positioning ZF as a leader in automated safety systems for commercial vehicles.
