LIVERPOOL, U.K. — Surface Transforms PLC, a U.K.-based developer, manufacturer and supplier of carbon-ceramic materials, have launched a new carbon-ceramic brake disk kit for the Lamborghini Huracan.

The kit uses proprietary next-generation carbon-ceramic material – CCST – to create lightweight, high-performance brake discs that will fit both the Huracan and Huracan Performante models of Lamborghini’s iconic supercar, either as an iron upgrade or direct replacement for the OEM CCM carbon brake option.

In addition, the kit will fit Audi’s R8 supercar and is compatible with Audi’s B8 RS4 and RS5 models in a ‘front only’ configuration.

The unique 3D-matrix carbon-ceramic weave technology developed by Surface Transforms produces a stronger and more durable product with three times the heat conductivity compared to their competitors. This reduces the brake system operating temperature, resulting in increased life of components whilst maintaining at least the same brake performance, often improved.

At the same time, weight is reduced in a highly important rotating, un-sprung area of the car. Surface Transforms’ unique patented carbon-ceramic technology provides the ultimate braking performance for road, track and other specialist applications and is a ‘must fit’ for anyone who takes their supercar passion seriously.

Because of the superior wear characteristics of the Surface Transforms CCST rotor when compared to steel or OEM carbon alternatives and the fact that worn CCST rotors can be refurbished, the lifetime cost savings are significant.

When taking account of the initial purchase price, a road-going track day enthusiast can expect to save up to £15,000(+) over a two-year period of average track day and road use, when compared to running steel or OEM carbon for the same duty cycle. For a race team running one car across the same two-year period, this saving could be up to £50,000(+), depending on race conditions and driving style.

“The brake discs fitted to today’s high-performance supercars have to withstand track day induced heat levels but also be durable enough for long life road use – our new kit delivers both,” said Craig Couzens, Business Development Manager at Surface Transforms. “For any supercar owner and enthusiast, the technology found in the Surface Transforms discs is impressive both on and off the track with a reduced through-life cost, which for all Lamborghini Huracan users, will be highly attractive benefits.

“Our kit also fits some of Audi’s finest performance cars, delivering the same advantages”.
