This prestigious recognition marks the fifth consecutive year and the eleventh time overall that HL Mando has earned this award, highlighting its dedication to excellence and innovation in the automotive industry.

The award was presented at General Motors’ 33rd annual Supplier of the Year event on April 8, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. HL Mando stood out among 92 companies from 12 countries honored as exceptional GM partners. Notably, less than 1% of GM’s suppliers receive this accolade, emphasizing the significance of HL Mando’s achievement.
As part of HL Group, HL Mando is a Tier 1 supplier specializing in Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) technologies. Its North American journey began in 1996 with an R&D center in Michigan, followed by manufacturing facilities in Alabama and Georgia, and a second R&D center focused on future automotive advancements.
The Motor on Caliper (MoC) product, produced in Alabama, earned HL Mando recognition in the Brake Apply & Controls category. This innovation showcases the company’s ability to meet the automotive market’s evolving needs.
HL Mando’s recent $700 million investment in North America underscores its commitment to cutting-edge technology and its partnership with GM. Jeff Morrison, GM’s global chief procurement officer, praised the suppliers’ innovation and resilience, noting their role in delivering advanced technology to GM customers.
The Supplier of the Year award evaluates performance in safety, innovation, and resilience, alongside alignment with GM’s values. Jason (Jae-hyuk) Kim, Head of HL Mando Americas, expressed pride in their localization efforts and excitement for future collaborations with GM in automotive software and autonomous driving.
