TOKYO – Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. has completed the acquisition of Chassis Brakes International B.V. on October 11, creating an industry leader in automotive safety solutions.
The combination of Hitachi Automotive Systems and Chassis Brakes puts us in a global leadership position in automotive safety solutions, capable of shaping the direction of advanced safety solutions through leveraging our incredibly complementary operations, in terms of technologies, customers, locations and expertise.
The transaction will accelerate transformation of the company’s technology portfolio. This includes strengthening Hitachi Automotive Systems’ motion control capabilities across the whole vehicle and supporting additional development and integration of AD/ADAS technologies, as well as electrification and emissions reduction technologies.
Hitachi Automotive Systems will also benefit from Chassis Brakes International’s highly experienced global team, who bring significant knowledge of successful business transformation, helping to drive further operational excellence, including quality standards, operating tools and processes, and digitalization.
The acquisition and integration are in line with the strategy outlined in Hitachi, Ltd.’s mid-term management plan (MTP), which will promote a sustainable society thorough Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business. Contributing to a sustainable society and improved quality of life, the acquisition of Chassis Brakes will create a platform for advanced safety systems that will help to reduce road accidents, while also contributing to improved comfort and a reduction of vehicle emissions.
