The Friction Materials Standards Institute and SAE International are expanding their collaboration across two major brake industry events in 2026. FMSI will increase its presence at the SAE Brake Colloquium, while SAE has signed on as a Gold sponsor for FMSI’s Brake Weekend. The cross-sponsorship signals closer ties between the two organizations.

FMSI Brake Weekend 2026
FMSI’s Brake Weekend runs May 29–31 in Naples, Florida. The event is known for its networking focus and industry-specific programming.
Bill Hanvey, President and CEO of the Auto Care Association, will deliver the keynote address. He will also moderate a Q&A panel and tribute featuring longtime brake industry leaders. Panelists include Roy Link of Link Engineering, Dino Crescentini of Dynamic Friction Company, and Dan Sandberg, retired from Brembo, among others.

SAE Brake Colloquium 2026
