While many two-piece rotors simply bolt a friction ring to a lightweight hub, EBC employs its trademarked SD (Square-Drive) system. This advanced bobbin hardware allows the cast iron rotor ring to expand and contract independently from the central aluminum hub when exposed to extreme temperatures. This movement prevents stress on the rotor assembly, reducing the risk of warping and ensuring consistent performance.

While carbon ceramic rotors are valued for their light weight, EBC emphasizes that a quality grey cast iron rotor delivers superb and controllable friction.

In contrast, EBC’s system is compatible with a multitude of its pad materials, made from para-aramid fibers.
