Comline Auto Parts – one of the fastest growing automotive brands in Europe – is once again supporting the Denmark-based Vermilion Racing as the team’s official supplier of brake discs. Comline ADC1503 coated brake discs will feature on the team’s 2019 all-electric single-seat racer.

Formula Student is the world’s largest student engineering design competition which sees entrants competing to design, build and race a formula racing car. Run by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, the competition, which attracts entries from around the world, including Europe, USA, Australia, India, Canada and the Far East, aims to foster and develop young talent, encouraging more graduates to pursue a career in automotive engineering. “We are delighted to assist Vermilion Racing once again,” said Leigh Davies, Marketing Manager Comline Auto Parts

“Formula Student is a fantastic concept providing undergraduates with invaluable experience as they begin their engineering career. The Vermilion team have already demonstrated great skill and entrepreneurship with the production of the first car, and we are very much looking forward to seeing what this group of exceptional young engineers will achieve in 2019.”

The Vermilion Racing team, which consists of 30 undergraduates studying, mechanical, electrical, design and management engineering at the Technical University of Denmark, was founded in 2017. The group produced their first Formula Student prototype, an electric powered single-seat racer, in just five months and it was showcased at this year’s Formula Student event hosted at Silverstone, United Kingdom.

Set to capitalise on the success of the first car, the team is already hard at work producing its successor which will be entered in the 2019 competition. Asked why the team choose to partner with Comline for its brake discs, Vermilion team member Jacob Buch Andreasen said:

“When looking for the perfect brake disc for our car, we considered many things; fit, safety, quality and performance. We choose the Comline ADC1503 brake disc because it ticked those boxes. The Comline brand has an excellent reputation and its use of high-quality raw materials and specialist manufacturing techniques provides all the attributes we were looking for in a brake disc.”

The 2019 Formula Student finale will take place at Silverstone on 17-21 July 2019.
