Brembo has announced the introduction of its Carbon Ceramic Material (CCM) brake discs and pads to the aftermarket, a product previously available only as original equipment. These high-performance brakes offer significant advantages in weight reduction, durability, and consistent friction performance, making them an attractive option for drivers seeking superior handling and braking reliability.
Key Highlights:
- 50% weight reduction compared to traditional cast iron discs, improving vehicle handling by lowering unsprung weight.
- High friction coefficient that remains stable in all conditions, enhancing driver confidence and brake response.
- Thermal resistance: The friction coefficient remains consistent even during sustained, high-speed braking.
- Deformation resistance: Brembo CCM brakes maintain their shape under high thermal stress, unlike traditional cast iron discs.
- Corrosion-free: Brembo CCM discs are resistant to corrosion, even in wet or salty conditions.
- Longevity: Brembo CCM discs can last up to 150,000 km for regular road use and 2,000 km in extreme track conditions.
- Rapid heat dissipation, allowing for repeated high-power braking without loss of performance.
Introduced at Automechanika Frankfurt 2024, Brembo’s CCM technology is now available to a broader market, offering the best in braking innovation.
Since its inception in 1998, the Brembo CCM project has evolved from extensive research and testing to its first application on the Ferrari Enzo. Leveraging expertise from Formula One, Brembo’s CCR carbon disc technology laid the foundation for their CCM products, cementing their place as a leading solution in high-performance braking.
