Brembo and JAC Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Feb. 5 to collaborate on advanced braking technologies and software solutions for future vehicle platforms. The deal, formalized at JAC Group headquarters in Hefei, China, builds on the two companies’ existing relationship through the Maextro S800 luxury sedan.
Highlights
- Brembo and JAC Group formalized a long-term partnership focused on braking hardware, software, and digital solutions for the Chinese automotive market.
- The collaboration expands on prior work involving the Maextro S800, a high-end intelligent NEV developed with Huawei.
- Brembo positions China as a strategic market, emphasizing its role as an integrated solutions provider beyond traditional brake components.
- The agreement targets next-generation new energy vehicles, combining Brembo’s braking expertise with JAC Group’s manufacturing scale.
Partnership Scope and Strategic Focus
The agreement establishes a framework for joint development of braking systems and software tailored to evolving vehicle architectures. Brembo will contribute its braking hardware alongside proprietary software and digital capabilities. JAC Group brings large-scale manufacturing and deep ties to China’s new energy vehicle ecosystem.
Daniele Schillaci, CEO of Brembo Group, noted the partnership advances the company’s shift toward integrated solutions. The deal reflects Brembo’s broader strategy of combining mechanical braking components with software-driven capabilities for OEM customers.
Building on the Maextro S800 Foundation
The two companies previously collaborated on the Maextro S800, a luxury sedan developed through JAC Group’s partnership with Huawei. That vehicle debuted in November 2024 and launched on May 30, 2025. It accumulated more than 18,000 orders within 175 days of its introduction.
The Maextro S800 is produced at the Maextro Super Factory, which JAC Group describes as one of the first zero-carbon industrial parks in Anhui Province. The facility features full 5G connectivity across its automotive manufacturing operations.
JAC Group’s Industry Position
Founded in 1964, JAC Group operates across the full automotive value chain, from R&D through production, sales, and service. The company has delivered more than 10 million vehicles globally and maintains partnerships with Volkswagen Group, NIO, CATL, and iFLYTEK.
